Family update...

6 December 2009

I'm well overdue for a little family update..... life gets so busy....and I forget to share....
So here is a quick re-cap of a few things happening in our life this last month....

Today was the Barmera market day...
Meg (Mitch's beautiful girlfriend) performed with her band 'Shattered Glass' for the market crowd.... and it was also the release of their Cd.
Meg plays bass guitar and I was thrilled to get the opportunity to see her play...
Mitch and Megs brother helped man the Cd sales stall....and I brought home my very own signed copy... which they assured me would be worth money one day when they are famous.
Here they are on their stage....

...and another shot...having a little play with some actions.....loved the grungy look for this snap...

This week was Winen family Christmas shoot....and as usual it was hopeless.... the cooperation in this house is patchy.....yep...they will all turn up....they will all gather outside....but do you think they will all smile nicely at the same time....
I did get a few keepers though.....

Last week we were hit by a huge storm here in Barmera..... it ripped trees out of the ground.... knocked fences over.... laid rows of grape vines on their side... I took these photos down along the lake front just after the storm had passed.... so sad to see so many beautiful old trees destroyed like this.

The last couple of weeks have been huge in our house.....Briony has been working on her 'exhibition' ...which is a major assignment that our Year 10 students do each year.
The exhibition is held near the end of the year...and each student has to choose a topic......research it......and then prepare an 'exhibition' of their topic... complete with visual props and information. Briony chose to research 'Child development and the early childhood educator'...our house became a disaster zone as she prepared .....we had props.... books....snippy snippy paper scraps... folders....and notes in every room of the house....and each time we would get organised Briony would think of something else she could add....so it would all begin over....
It was such a relief for the exhibition day to finally arrive.... I think the weight lifted off all our shoulders.
Here are a few of the props before we left home...
Then setting up the exhibition display at school.... in preparation for the night...

With her best friends.....they were all excited and nervous at the same time....

Standing at her exhibition waiting for the assessors to arrive...

A few weeks ago Briony and I were invited to a 'girls night out' event.... a wonderful way to raise some funds for Breast cancer.... a big thanks to Sandra for hosting it....
We took along some pink cupcakes....and a salad....
Briony did the honours of making and icing the cakes.....she is such a good little chicken in the kitchen....

Mmm...well I think that's it for today.....this post is long enough...
