What a wonderful weekend and Mothers day

10 May 2011

We had all been waiting so long for a chance to catch up with these guys.
Now that the kids are all older.....
there is always sport and lots of extracurricular activities that make getting away for the weekend
all the trickier.

So it was lovely....
The boys spent a day yabbying and at the 4wd adventure course...
we girls went to netball and then spent a little of the afternoon at the new 'play space' playground.

We cooked up fresh caught yabbies and a Thai green curry for dinner...
We had a few drinks....
the kids played Play station.....and watched movies

Bella adored having Evie to play..
and Evie was so sweet with her too.

It was just plain good!!

(Just  a note about the photo of all the boys.....Brent and Brock are not shorter.....Mitch and Kurt were standing on the end of the treadmill.....which gave them quite an advantage in height..lol)
Then all too soon it was Sunday.....and we had to say goodbye...
As usual I mopped for a couple of hours....verging on tears.... missing them all so much already.

But then the kids all arrived....
and
Briony began some secretive baking in the kitchen...
Mitch and Meg made plans on what they were cooking us all for dinner...
Mitchell pretended he was a robot....
Brent..Alex and the girls arrived....
such a lovely Mothers Day surprise....
a delicious meal cooked by the kids...
Moroccan chicken and couscous....
Chocolate brownies and a sticky date pudding...
 everyone around the table...
the usual noise....bickering...and antics....
just how I like it.
