The love supreme

...and my quest for health continues....

Family....close friends and those who read my Blog are probably tired of hearing about me.....and my never ending quest for health.

Its been a long journey since I was diagnosed with breast cancer....
then poisoned....nuked...chopped up and put back together.
I am so thankful to now be well and truly out the other side.

However I always figured that by now (4 years) Id feel well and truly fit and healthy again....
but nope.... I'm not 100% and its frustrating.

Initially I blamed all the excess weight....and the fact I was terribly unfit......so last year I threw myself into Michelle Bridges 12wbt program and finally felt wonderful to shed a lot of excess weight and regain my fitness.
I was eating well.....exercising.....and things were falling into place....or so I thought.

But then.....slowly the 'unwellness' returned....
Once again I was fatigued.... my body ached terribly..... I would be awake half the night and then could barely drag myself out in the mornings... foods would upset my stomach.....
I just didn't have a spring in my step any more.

So enough is enough...its time to find some answers.
In my heart I believe it has to do with my diet.....so I've increased my vegetables....cut out the processed foods....and embraced the wholefoods.

I then decided to cut out all the refined sugars.
Sarah Wilson really was my inspiration... her honest down to earth approach made it doable....

I cant recommend her quit plan highly enough.

You can read my sugar elimination posts here
and Sarah's book is available here if you are at all interested.

I truly though this was the key....
I was certain once the sugar was gone Id feel  million dollars...
and I did briefly... but then that darn old niggling unwellness seeped back in...

I really was at a loss at what to try next.....
So although I knew that cutting out sugar was the right thing for me....
I also knew that there was also something else that needed to go.

So....I bought books..... and searched the web..... and read everything I could get my hands on....
but truthfully...
its so confusing....and so contradicting....and each approach has its own merits.
How on earth was I to choose what was right for me?

Then... like a little message from above.....
I read a small article in our local paper...advertising a seminar about health..

so I went along.

It was interesting.... a lot of it I already knew....and believed in....but it was a wonderful reminder....
and the key note from the day was ....
that most of us lack good nutrition and are exposed to far too many toxins.

I felt like I had been ignoring this for too long so I took the next step....
I booked a Liveblood analysis to see exactly what my problem was.

That was the beginnings of a huge change for me.
I wont go into it too much more ..... but I will say I've committed to 12weeks of detox
I am now eating not only sugar free....but I've also cut all dairy...grains and yeast.
Its going to be a challenge.... but I'm up for it.
I have decided to quietly blog my progress here if anyone is interested.
It will be more a record for my own benefit but Id be only too happy if you wanted to follow along.
