My first market adventure...

2 December 2012

I had toyed with the idea of taking some Dudley and Grace goodies to the market for awhile now.
In  fact Dudley and Grace was originally created for our local markets ...but I never actually got there....
I just stuck with my little Etsy store instead.

Then a few weeks ago I got the itch to give it a go....
so I started working on some new lovelies...
I stockpiled them away... and come market day I had quite a pile.

My craft room has looked like a bomb site as I got ready....

Then last night there was what seemed a million last minute jobs to do.....
Price tags to stamp...

The necklaces needed constructing (Thanks to my beautiful helper)

I was finishing off these brooch / necklaces with matt protective spray....

My little pile of goodies began to take shape...

Lots of little softies all waiting for the morning to arrive....

A pile of heat mats and wonky pin cushions....

The brooch / necklaces all set to go....

Then after a fitful nights sleep.....I was up early.....and off to the main street to set up....
It was SO hot and sunny.... and we (Char and I) were given a stall in full sun.... which seemed ok for the first hour....after that I just grew redder by the minute....LOL

Here is my lovely friend Char with her sweetest little machine embroidered goodies....as well as her homegrown and dried fruit which sold out in minutes!

Here I am.....evidence that I was actually there.....I can hardly believe it...
I HAD A MARKET STALL!!
(Thankfully Char kept me company as we fried in the sun)

Here is another view of the markets stretching down the street....
 ...and there you have it....

Markets done and dusted...
another little life experience I can tick off the bucket list.
Now I can get busy loading all that remains to Etsy....
I feel much more comfy there....and there is no chance of sunburn either.

  5. Oh your table looks gorgeous Mardi... so many beautiful goodies... I love the three tier stand too filled with your delicious softies... and your skirt is so pretty... is that one you made... I have had a lot of fun selling at markets over the years... even though now...I choose to be in front of the stalls instead of behind them... they were great times...
